The little boat
This sermon tells the touching story of a young boy who built a beautiful sailboat with his father, only to lose it in a storm. Heartbroken, he later finds it in a pawn shop but must work hard to buy it back. This story mirrors the love of Jesus, who not only created us but also redeemed us through His sacrifice. Just as the boy joyfully declared, “Now you are mine twice—once because I made you, and once because I bought you back,” Jesus has claimed us through both creation and redemption. This powerful message reminds us of the deep love and sacrifice of Christ, who paid the ultimate price to save us from sin.
Description of the Sermon:
Through the story of a boy and his lost sailboat, our pastor illustrates the profound truth of redemption. Just as the boy built his boat with love and then had to repurchase it after it was lost, so too did Jesus create us and later redeem us with His own blood. The sacrifice of Christ is a testament to God’s unwavering love—He made us in His image and, despite our sin, chose to buy us back at the highest cost. This sermon calls us to reflect on our worth in God’s eyes and to embrace the salvation freely given to us. You belong to Jesus, not just because He created you, but because He paid for your redemption with His life.
